I think it would be a good idea to be able to change the base URL from Nintendowifi.net to something else because some modded DS roms come pre-patched to certain WFC servers and If someone wants to change them there currently is no way to do so.

I (hopefully) managed to implement it in this commit on my fork

I'm not sure how useful this will be for most users, but it's so simple to implement I might as well
It still needs to be tested - would appreciate if anyone wanted to do that
