Feature - Buddy System #55
Comments
I feel like this would work a lot better with a rudamentary "friends" list of some kind. With 800 users in the system, a list of all advertised shifts could become really big with hundreds of shifts on it posted by a lot of people you don't really know. Thoughts? |
I just realized from the title of this ticket that you might have exactly meant the same thing as "friends list" when you said "buddy system". |
@Zaskoda: I like the idea of just having a search for a users display(playa)name, at least for now. It would let people find their friends without having to add any major features. Social network features might be nice eventually, but since we all use facebook/twitter/google anyways, it's not adding much value. Along the same lines, UI/UX can have a major impact for that kind of thing too. A stronger emphasis on search will really help address issues in finding a specific shift. |
I still plan on doing this but it's not part of the MVP for this year's refactor. Should be easier to implement now. |
I would like to be able to advertise that I am volunteering for a specific shift and that if you want to hang out with me during that shift, there are open shifts at the same time for which you could volunteer for.
We could have a specific page on the site that showed who was advertising these shifts and what/when they are so that people could easily look at that page and see that they can jump on a volunteer shift with someone they like.
