When adding the tracking image via Gmail's "Insert Image by URL" feature ... the very act of inserting triggers an event to the log.
I noticed that these requests all seemed to have Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0) Gecko Firefox/11.0 (via ggpht.com GoogleImageProxy) as $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']
