Add alternative OS instructions for RAM disk creation #54
Comments
Wikipedia has a list of RAM disk software, including some for Linux. I don't have a Linux installation at the moment, so I can't test them out. |
The RAM disk is just a FAT image, right? I don't think there's any need to actually mount it as a RAM disk on the PC, just making a 12 or 28 MB FAT image and mounting it normally should work, Linux and macOS both should come with FAT image mounters unlike windows. Just need instructions on how to make a specific sized FAT image. |
I that case, wouldn't it be easier to just include an empty 12 and 28 MB image on the page? |
yeah I think that should work fine, that's much simpler lol |
oops dunno why this closed |
https://wiki.ds-homebrew.com/twilightmenu/creating-ram-disks only has instructions for Dataram RAMDisk, which is only for Windows. Instructions for macOS and Linux would be good to have.
