Can't type anything in chat input

When I type here in the green chat input, nothing happens:

I can paste stuff here, so I can make Codeium work. But obviously it is not viable. I can press enter to send what I pasted, can use Backspace and Delete on pasted text, can use Shift+Enter to add new line, but I can't write any characters in this input.

Plugin version is 1.8.0

My IDEA version is:

Runtime version: 17.0.6+10-b829.5 amd64
VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o.

My OS is:

Haven't had a problem like this with any of Jetbrains plugins before

I'm having the same problem but it's only some keys. I realise it is the main JetBrains IDE is hijacking the keys I have set to shortcuts. For example I have "F,F" set to "SearchEverywhere" so I am unable to use the F key when trying to type in the chat window. I have not found a solution to this apart from disabling my shortcut keys which isn't desirable as I use these all the time.
