Vim problem: The IDE is not playing well with vim extension (vscodevim)

I have used vscodevim with vscode and other forks of vs code. I haven't had any problems with vs code. With a vs code fork, I belive I noticed the second of the below two problems.

With Windsurf, I am not sure if there are more, but I am having trouble with 2 problems.

1. shift+* jumps skips to next same word but with windsurf it sometimes freezes the editor.
2. undoing cascade changes with vim's "u", messes up the undo order.

I did not spend a lot of time trying to verify if this is windsurf's fault. If not, feel free to close the issue, if it is, I hope windsurf provides an excellent vim extension experience for its users.
