How to get started for i.MX8 Plus Board?

Hi could someone point me to the right direction, I need to build a BSP for an NXP i.MX8 Plus Board.
I have this doc from NXP
IMX_YOCTO_PROJECT_USERS_GUIDE.pdf
But this only refers to meta-imx from NXP.

Is there somewhere a How-To get started with freescale?
All I could find is https://freescale.github.io/ which is not helpfull.
And https://github.com/Freescale/meta-freescale.
But there is no documentation, neither in the repo nor on the web page.

Is it enough to just do :

git clone -b scarthgap git://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-freescale.git
git clone -b scarthgap git://git.yoctoproject.org/poky.git
source oe-init-build-env
bitbake-layers add-layer ../meta-freescale

Remark: The code above does not work, it fails with

Where can the mapping to the NXP naming be found?

What is the difference for the Supported Freescale's distros?
Supported Freescale's distros:
fslc-wayland vs fsl-wayland vs fslc-xwayland vs fsl-xwayland ?

I assume :

• fslc variants are community-supported.
• fsl variants are officially supported by Freescale (NXP).
• wayland variants use the Wayland display server protocol.
• xwayland variants use XWayland to support X11 applications on Wayland.

what is the difference between fslc and fsl?
How to add qt support? And so on...

take a look at https://github.com/Freescale/meta-freescale-distro/blob/master/conf/distro/include/fslc-base.inc for understanding the difference between the ditros.

Basically, the difference is IMX_DEFAULT_BSP and everything that depends on this.

Regarding QT, I'm not in contact with this for several years now, so I'm not able to properly help, but maybe you can find something on: https://github.com/nxp-imx/meta-imx (see README)
