For example, if we have a bunch of recorded bans from a big botnet of randomized nicks, and we try a wildcard lookup for a short nick (eg, abc*), we'll likely get a torrent of the former rather than useful info for the latter if it exists.
It'd be nice to be able to give an exclude parameter to work around this, ie "!tag tagname".
maybe this is already covered by whatever you planned for #47?
