Remote 'origin' already exists

Lots of random things go wrong, such as the patcher browser not populating. Logs print errors stating remote 'origin' already exists

User that had the issue somehow had their C:/[Username]/.gitconfig file modified to contain:

[remote "origin"]
	fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*
        url = https://github.com/Michael-wigontherun/SynSetESL

Another way to investigate is running git config --list in the command line, which might return results like:

... Other things
remote.origin.url=https://github.com/Michael-wigontherun/SynSetESL
remote.origin.fetch=+refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*

While it's unknown currently how these entries ended up in the .gitconfig, they have pretty catastrophic effects to anything trying to use git. Removing those lines in the .gitconfig solved the issue. Be aware it may be a hidden file that you need to turn on showing hidden files and folders for in windows settings
