Safe area layout guidelines not respected

The UI doesn't conform to safe area layout guidelines. See this article for a good explanation of what this means in practice and why it's a good idea to use them going forward.

On an iPhone X, by not respecting the guidelines, you get unexpected clipping, such as in the following screenshots where the title is actually offscreen (where the notch is), and the background doesn't extend behind the whole view.
