The documentation provided in the PP ALM Starter Kit should describe a recommended environment structure.

I find the idea interesting because environments are an important part of the ALM process for the Power Platform.
This article could be a good starting point for our thinking around this subject: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/establishing-an-environment-strategy-for-microsoft-power-platform/ (I am sure we can find things that have change since the publication of this article at the end of October 2019)

Parts of the contents moved to the Microsoft docs page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/guidance/adoption/environment-strategy.
