Add text as a number

I would like to indicate in the programm, a cell where I can give an information as text, instead of a number. In the case of the last one, it is possible adding to a variable "A" = ? { }. How can I do the same but adding text?

Hi! In Calcpad it is not allowed to assign text to variables.

Also, it is not a good coding practice in general to make your calcs flow to depend on hard coded or user entered strings.
It is much better to use dropdown selects combo to make user select a text, but store the selection as a numerical value to operate further.
