Verifying game files forever

I let it run for about 2 hours and it's still saying verifying filles

I'm having the same issue, and I read a thing
" _For those who get stuck on Verifying files:
Go to the game folder > resources > app > game, and create shortcut for A51.
On the new shortcut add following: --launcher
It should look like this https://prnt.sc/ly6f7q
Now run game from new created shortcut.

But it didn't work for me in any capacity. I'm on Windows 10 if that makes things more or less difficult

I am having the same issue here

I solved sending a shortcut from A51.exe to the Desktop and than added --launcher in the shorcut, worked

I might be doing wrong

Make sure you create the right shortcut.
This error has been around for over 3 years.

Putting "--launcher" in the game shortcut worked for me.

Note: When I start the game, in the window, the project name plus the version is shown, however, the version that is shown is 1.0, and I downloaded version 1.1.

What could be happening?

I can't run the new shortcut. It says I'm missing spooky3.dll.
