While I like the newer toolbar icons, the wall of icons along the top is too tight and isn't as intuitive as it could be when indicating how the sections interact.
The Solution you'd like
*Bar 1 in the illustration is current with the Monokai Pro Contrast theme.
Change the spacer between subsections to something that widens the space and "points" to child sub-sections. (bar 2)
If the child subsection of a toolbar lit at something around half the intensity of the background highlight of the parent (hovered) section, it would indicate "inter-connectivity" instead of "separation". Would need to increase the intensity of the current parent hover highlight to properly illustrate. (bar 3 and bar 4)
