[MOD REQUEST] more mods to test #28
Comments
I have already tested some of them; Abandoned, and IIRC the 1.20.1 versions have some issues MoreCulling is better Doesn't do anything Insignificant performance improvements EBE already does this Same as CLL (MoreCulling is better)
There's conflicting information as to whether these help or not. Sometimes there's an improvement, othertimes there's nothing: Fabulously-Optimized/fabulously-optimized#305 Insignificant improvement when other performance mods are installed Very situational. Also, Fabulously-Optimized/fabulously-optimized#824 Breaks Vanilla parity EBE already does this too
FerriteCore is better Basically just Embeddium with bloat
Insignificant performance improvements MoreCulling is better Only really "necessary" if you're running a large server and have a CPU with 32+ cores. The average player won't benefit from it. I'm pretty sure it's the same case as faster random, ie. breaks Vanilla parity Forge already does this since 1.16, so it's redundant on both Forge and NeoForge. Also I'm pretty sure Sodium and ImmediatelyFast (?) optimize particle rendering somewhat. Angelica already has a similar feature I don't think this will be significant when other mods (especially ModernFix are installed). Though I'll have to test it.
These are not performance mods Seems pretty situational, similarly to fast paintings. Mods like this can be unpredictable when it comes to mod compatibility. Incompatible with C2ME, but I'll have to test which one's better. Incompatible with Angelica Same as faster random Fake, all it does is replace the text in the F3 menu |
I would recommend this mod - https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/flerovium |
In my tests, I didn't see such a big difference between Sodium Leaf Culling and MoreCulling. But SLC breaks less resourcepack stuff. |
That mod can be more or less replaced by enabling |
Resource pack compatibility isn't the highest priority, but I do know that the custom item frame renderer in MoreCulling can break CIT. That said, it does more than just culling leaves, so I won't be replacing it. |
I agree with your choice, as it's a trade-off of resourcepack compatibility for performance. |
In my modpack I play with EMI and thanks to this mod I have no fps drop when opening inventory |

What the mod does/reasoning:
krypton (pluto, foxified) optimises the Minecraft networking stack and is a bit similar to lithium
badoptimizations does small optimisations, some modpacks use it
people say that vmp might break datapacks
fastload is for not-recommended.md, might be redundant with modernfix
cull-less-leaves/cull-leaves/sodiumleafculling is for not-recommended.md too, redundant with moreculling
smoothboot/threadtweak or stutterfix is used to tweak thread scheduling, might get to not-recommended.md as forge port
fastanim didn't do a thing in my experience, it's for not-recommended.md
afaik feytweaks and fast-paintings/optipainting might be redundant with immediatelyfast, so it's for not-recommended.md
better-beds/fastchest are redundant with ebe, it's for not-recommended.md
afaik cullclouds and bedrodium are redundant with sodium, so it's for not-recommended.md
servercore adds several server optimisations
dashloader, blinkload and fastboot might be redundant with modernfix
faster-random looks good, although people say there are bugs that affect vanilla gameplay
entity-collision-fps-fix fixes MC-228976 (fixed in 1.19.3), though collision-fix tries to do this on 1.20+
hydrogen (or helium (forge port)) might be redundant with ferritecore
xenon is for not-recommended.md, same embeddium, but under different name
scalablelux is fork of starlight for modern versions
super-fast-math might break stuff, needs testing
cull-particles-multiloader is an updated version of old mod
leafculling does similar to optifine's smart leaves
shader-fixer does some fixes for different mods for shaders
have seen someone using flying-cullers
spark-unforged is a backport of spark, might be useful
dimthreads is an unofficial fork that assigns multiple dimensions independent threads
moonrise-opt might be in not-recommended.md as c2me
optimizationsandtweaks is incompatible with archaicfix
francium is similar to faster-random, but might not do a thing
threatengl doesn't do much, it's for not-recommended.md
