This seems like a flaw in DITA. Isn't it possible to manage all the content & metadata within 1 format?
Would it make sense to "clear" all the content IDs within a dedicated DITA file, which would be included in the main map, with
<mapref processing-role=”resource-only”>
?
It could even be in a DITA table or something, couldn't it?
Then it could be used to generate nice internal docs for the authors to view...?
