As of ~ Sept. of 2016, cpss is no longer functional by default on windows 10, likely due to a change in default permissions of windows, winrt, powershell or something related.

At the time it stopped working, Windows 8 was still functioning just fine.

I'm investigating when I have time, but it's definitely limited.
