Slow performance/Hang when clearing filter value

We're experiencing an issue in our table when clearing the filter value eg, highlighting the complete word and deleting it from the input. the table will freeze for what appears to be a 2+ seconds before rendering the un-filtered results.

We seem to only experience this when running on our production site with approximately 800 records. When running on our local environment we've got about 40-60 records and no dicernible difference in performance there.

Am looking to see if anyone here might have experienced this and what they might have done to correct it or suggestions on where to look to narrow this down.

The data assigned to the table is unchanged with the only difference being the change in the filter value going from something like 'test' to ''.
