Sometimes when trying to run Need For Speed through proton Experimental, and after opening EA Play to init the session, the game just crashes back to steam and spams this error and warning

This is addressed on master, but hasn't trickled into Steam's layer yet.

@HansKristian-Work I am having this issue also. Could I clone this repo and build this myself? Or is there other work that needs to go into integrating it with steam?

This error should never cause crashes. Does it still reproduce when you disable Fossilize in Steam?

Don't try to replace the Fossilize layer that Steam ships. It will not work.

How do you disable Fossilize in Steam?
