Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Massacre At The Mirage
  • Steam AppID of the game: 2794610

System Information

  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE
  • Video driver version: Mesa 24.2.6
  • Kernel version: 6.11.5-300.fc41.x86_64
  • Link to full system information report: system_info.txt
  • Proton version: proton-9.0-3c, experimental-bleeding-edge-9.0

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

With Proton 9.0-3 video just shows a test pattern:
20241108225333_1

With Proton Experimental there seems to be a regression and the game hangs/freezes at the scene where video is supposed to be played. Unless using "old-media-source" then you get the test pattern #8186

Reproduction

  • Play the game until you get the film reel and play it with a movie projector.

This is about 20 minutes in of gameplay, there is one checkpoint before you get to this point (so you loose only about 10 minutes of progress if the game crashes).
