Microsoft Flight Simulator freezes on loading with HDR #1675

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues

Are you using any gamescope patches or a forked version of gamescope?

  • The issue occurs on upstream gamescope without any modifications

Current Behavior

Running with any configuration that has the argument --hdr-enabled will result in a freeze just before it reaches the main menu.

Now, the reason why i'm reporting this here is because HDR does work when using proton tkg built with wayland (ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 DISPLAY= %command%)

- Distro: endeavouros
- CPU: 5700X3D
- GPU: RX 6700 XT
- Driver Version: Mesa-git

Software information

- Desktop environment: KDE 6.2
- Session type: wayland
- Gamescope version: 3.15.14 (gcc 14.2.1)
- Gamescope launch command(s): `ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 
gamescope -f -w 2560 -h 1440 --force-grab-cursor --hdr-enabled --hdr-debug-force-output -r 360 -- env ENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 DISABLE_HDR_WSI=1 %command%`

Which gamescope backends have the issue you are reporting?

  • Wayland (default for nested gamescope)
  • DRM (default for embedded gamescope, i.e. gamescope-session)
  • SDL
  • OpenVR

this is the point it freezes at in my own logs w/ some debugging parameters set
