Can one name layouts and reuse different layouts for different workspaces?

Hello!

I am sorry, if I've missed it on the wiki, but can one name a layout and have map different workspaces to different layouts?

My usecase is that I want to have a struts with a "sidebar" where I have some floating windows now that they have landed on main. I don't want to have that layout on every workspace though.

Hey, no, you cannot currently customize layout settings per-workspace or per-output.

May I open a feature request for this ?

Usecase: the struts is important so nothing goes below the floating windows that should occupy this space.

E.g. during presentations/streams I want to have my own webcam on the right side of one monitor all the time, and only have 4/5 of the monitor being "active" in the sense that moving and switching windows changes anything. The right 1/5 should just always show the floating window/camera.

I think for this particular problem, you can open some layer-shell client with exclusive area on your target monitor. For example, configure Waybar to show a solid black rectangle of the desired width on that specific monitor, and put it on the bottom layer.
