User agent means simply a string that identifies your machine/script. You can set it yourself. Examples:

Thank you! It's working like a dream! |
I'm getting "Failed to archive to archive.org: Can not save '<domain.org>'. Save request refused by the server. Save Page Now limits saving 15 URLs per minutes. Try waiting for 5 minutes and then try again." Is this an account thing or they are winding back support for this API after the hacks etc.?? |
I think they currently don't allow third party saves. Should hopefully be back to normal soon. |
Hello,
This module looks like the answer to my prayers, but I cannot find on archive.org where I would get a "user_agent" ID - which I assume is a permission token to access the API? On the Wayback Machine's own website it doesn't list a save page API at all, although that page hasn't been updated since 2013, and your PyPi says it was updated in 2022. I can only assume that yours is more up to date than theirs, but if so, how do I get the token? Or, if I have misunderstood what "user_agent" means, what is it?
Thank you,
Emily
