Hi,

is there a way to find the hover throttle command of the vehicle or it's just by trial and error on the field?

Thanks

This is a very interesting question, the theoretical way is to make calculation of thrust using all of the specification and datasheets of the parts, I mention it on my thesis in the control chapter and specifically in the height controller: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/8513/

The other option is to do it experimentally using a script to control the throttle precisely and a fly it just before starts flying off....

Hi, your thesis look very interesting, have you considered to use optimal control techniques for the slung load control (in combination or not with ANN)?
