kustomize supports the $(VAR) placeholder, when using helmify to convert manifests it could look for these and create values for them.

@luisdavim i was not able to find this feature in kustomize docs. I found this issue, where envar proposal was rejected kubernetes-sigs/kustomize#388 (comment)

The vars keyword/feature available in kustomize.config.k8s.io/v1beta1 manifests is supposed to be replaced by replacements in kustomize.config.k8s.io/v1.
