Upgrade an EC2 instance? #20786

We have EC2 instances with NVMe SSD we want to launch with let's say 64 GB of RAM but want to upgrade to 256 GB of RAM if we have more traffic.

Can we upgrade this with CDK or do we need to delete and add a new one?
Is the state of the SSD maintained or is basically new?
