We should find a way to let users optionally render controls using native operating system libraries. For example a UIButton could be made to look exactly like an NSButton from Cocoa or a native Windows button.
This would probably require the rendering engine to treat the HSS framework specially but the functionality would definitely be useful and probably desired by many users - especially if AXR is to be used to develop desktop application interfaces. After all HTML5 is beginning to be used on more than just the web and AXR should follow suit.
