IMO the nagging "share me" buttons and the "fork me" ribbon should be removed.
They don't fit with the current design, both have z-index issues on small resolution and give the landing page an amateurish vibe.

True, but we need every chance we have to get promoted.

I am sure we can achieve the same result with something less intrusive and out of place.
BTW you should rename the issue (something like "fork me ribbon issue") because we already got an issue for media queries.
