Its tempting, but for the most part, its actually .netstandard 2.1 / .netcoreapp3.1 that is forcing most #if on us.
In any case, it would be a breaking change, and require us to move to version 2. So with the next major release, then yes, I think its a good idea to drop support for any deprecated .NET versions.
