This project feels like it would be most useful to people unlikely to have any experience with GitHub. I'm wondering if it's possible to package it as a release with a link or as a zip file for people to download. I imagine most people landing on GitHub will just be confused and leave.
Anyway thanks for archiving this small piece of history.

I've got a better idea. Is it possible to add a note at the start of the README.md informing visitors to click the green code button and select Download ZIP, extract, double click index.html or drag it into a browser window. Then I would suggest saying you only need to read further if you're using an Apple Mac.
Ah... I think you're on an Apple Mac. In Chrome on Windows all images are blocked by CORS, the bane of my life. I do run a webserver on localhost but the average user doesn't. Feels like it would be easier to host the site somewhere outside the jurisdiction of Bill Gates.
