Contributing Plone Core Translations (This is the spontaneous main raison, the next one is preventive, so I do not have to wait when/if I need to take action on a package we're maintaining).
Projects used by iMio (Company in wallonia, Belgium, using Plone and packages in the Collective.
My motivation
I’m currently learning Plone as part of my new role at iMio, where I recently transitioned to a department using a highly customized Plone 4.3.20 instance. With limited documentation and the main developer having left, I am taking the lead to maintain and repair this setup to the best of my ability.
To deepen my skills, I’ve taken the initiative to learn and deploy a Plone 6 instance (with the Classic UI and using buildout), in my free time, hosted on a Debian VPS on OVH. While challenging, it has been rewarding, and you can check out my progress at https://impavi.de/ – a project that, while in its early stages, is live and functional.
A bit about me beyond Plone: I’m a 35-year-old based in Wallonia, Belgium, with interests spanning inner/self-development, music (acoustic guitar, especially gypsy jazz), development, scripting, SEO, accessibility, and optimization. I also enjoy bouldering (climbing gym) and CrossFit and have been learning price action trading, which is fascinating yet challenging.
Working at iMio has its solitary moments due to limited resources, but I recently joined a sprint where I had the opportunity to pair-program with laulaz. Together, we migrated sections of Plone 4/5 code to Plone 6, which was both collaborative and insightful.
I look forward to contributing to the Plone community and hope for the chance to access Collective resources to support my efforts.
