Make URL of diff page open in new window/tab

Is it possible to make the link of the URL above the diff page to open in new window/tab please? It's handy to have both the diffs as the original page open to see what is changed IRL. As not all might this need, it can be a configurable option.
Speaking of, is it possible to have a config option to specify another URL than the whatch URL above the diff page?
The reason for this, that the original watched page is rather complicated to watch (in order to get things done via the available filters), do I created intermediate pages which retrieves the original page and prepares it for properly/easy watching the original page. The thing is that this temp page/URL is very bare bone and the complete original version should be checked. The 'issue' is that this bare bone URL is shown above the diff page whereas I would like to see the original at that place.
