This project seems to be stale. I forked it, fixed fatal crashes (for example, crash after a double tap on Record button) and made some improvements (Android 6 runtime permissions, background recording, adapt to device orientation changes, etc.) to the application. The goal is to make a robust sound recorder so you can start by testing and improving recording quality.
