Stops working | works intermittently

So I've noticed for a while my ability to copy will just randomly stop working. Sometimes just a few minutes after boot, some times after a few hours. Copy, nothing is copied, copy, nothing is copied x5, yell at inanimate magic box, copy, nothing is copied. However if I restart greenclip...copy HAZAAH something is copied!

There is no -v (verbose) to slap on but I had been logging (/usr/bin/greenclip daemon 2>&1 >> /tmp/logs/le.log) and can't see anything from greenclip. So outside something cheese like just checking xprintidle every so often and restarting greenclip does anyone have an idea of what's going on and perhaps a less hacky fix?

FYI this happens on several of my machines all of which have the common feature of running barrier,synergy,input-leap,deskflow which may be the culprate.
