What is wrong?

The name py-evm doesn't seem a good fit for a library that hosts the low level building blocks for Ethereum 1 and 2. For the same reason we renamed the core module from evm to eth.

I was under the impression that the py-eth name on pypi was already taken but I recently checked it and sniped it so it is now under my control.

I think we should rename the package and the repository to py-eth also to be back in sync with the module namespace.

Thoughts?

How can it be fixed

  • Rename repository
  • Update setup.py
  • Update Readme.md
  • Update docs
  • set access writes on pypi
  • ???

I think I'm 👍 on this. Renames like this suck but since everything in this repo is still considered alpha ...

@rayrapetyan it didn't but I'm 👍 with doing it after next Tuesday when we are scheduled to issue our next Trinity release. cc @cburgdorf @carver @lithp
