Contact not showing in Contact list

I have one particular contact that doesn't show in the contact list. I cannot explain why as it is not different from some other contacts.

How could I debug this ? I tried to look at the AJAX calls but do not find the contact response.

Does the contact have any special characters? You can take a look at google contacts js api. Thank you for reporting

No special characters. I have many contacts that doesn't show: they seem to be newer contacts.

After having checked the code and used breakpoints, Google seems to return contacts from the oldest to the newest (in the returned array). Maybe there is a contact limit. That could explain why the newest do not show.

I too am having a similar issue. I have many contacts. And the oldest seem to show. So I created 5" tester" contacts. First of all, they only showed up on my phone if I put them in the "My Contacts" group in gmail on my PC. After that, they showed up on the phone. However, even though they show up on the phone only 3 of the 5 display when I am in Chrome and do a "load contacts" command.
