Currently if an event does not have an associated lat lng, the map info balloon
displays with the tail pointing at a random location. This is confusing to
users as there is no placemark where the tail points.
If the default Similie Timeline balloon were to open I think it would be less
confusing.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Agreed that this is confusing, and perhaps a tail-less info bubble would be
better (though I don't think this is supported by all map providers). The
location isn't random, though - it's just in the center of the current map.
I don't like using the SIMILE balloon, as I'd really rather not have two
different balloon styles on a single timemap - it would look ugly and get
difficult to manage.
