This is a bit odd, if you have ytNoCookie: true YouTube videos will not play automatically when you open the popup in Safari (I'm using Mac), it works in all other browsers.

I initially thought that it might be Safari's security feature to prevent auto-play from websites, but it still doesn't work if I set Safari's preferences to allow autoplay for the YT's no-cookie domain https://www.youtube-nocookie.com

Here's how to enable autoplay in Safari: Open Youtube > Click Safari > Settings for this website > Change 'Auto-Play' setting to Allow always

Any clue as to why this happens?

Sorry, I was moving and haven't had time to look at this.

Is the behavior any different if you directly visit the iframe embed url?

I tried Safari 13 through 17 on browserstack. None autoplayed initially, but after checking 'allow all autoplay' it does autoplay as expected.

Thanks. It's odd, I'm tying on Safari 16.3, it's not working even when visiting the embed URL, but it plays in other browsers. Perhaps it's with the browser
