Quite some time ago when I started using git-hub it was working fine without configuration and I started to get used to it.

Now on a different machine with newer git-hub I find myself forced into the entering my password to some helpful initialization dialog. Why? I do not have my password at hand, it is hard for me to get at it, and I know I do not need it for the operations I'm going to do.

What gives?

What a luck you just enter this room.

Work around: if I control-C the dialog after I have entered my user name, then I can start using 'git hub ...' for various operations (e.g. pr-list). The config file then only contains my name, not the API token and that's good enough for me. Cool, maybe you want to close the ticket after this workaround is published. Or maybe you have an idea how to make the experience for the next user more relaxing.
