Mod support and/or merging ink files

I’m trying to figure out a way to make ink stories that can be enhanced by either mod or DLC later on. Ideally, without replacing the original file with a new one but by creating “patches” that would be added on top of the original.

In an ideal world, this would allow additional story branches to be added after the fact. In a perfect world, you could even overwrite options with new ones and so forth.
