(Is this the right place to post content issues?)

CEUR-WS is an important series of open self-published workshops:

In contrast, OpenAlex has 1155:

  • has 5 venues "CEUR" https://api.openalex.org/venues?search=ceur (which are unmerged records, and it thinks the biggest one has publisher "Samara National Research University" (it's Aachen))
  • number of works per venue:
curl -s https://api.openalex.org/venues?search=ceur | jq '.results[] | .works_count,.display_name'
1073
"CEUR workshop proceedings"
34
"CEUR-WS.org eBooks"
25
"CEUR Workshop Proceedings eBooks"
11
"CEUR eBooks"
12
"CEUR-WS eBooks"
  • total works for venue CEUR:
curl -s https://api.openalex.org/venues?search=ceur | jq .results[].works_count | perl -ne '$a+=$_; END{print $a}'
1155

Looking at the DOIs on https://fatcat.wiki/container/ckjnfk4aq5evpl5w6rlsgi4bsy, it seems you only harvest

Can you harvest https://ceur-ws.org directly?
https://dblp.uni-trier.de/db/series/ceurws/index.html indexes all of it and says there are 50k works:

  • open (49,300)
  • closed (345)
  • unavailable (342)
  • withdrawn (20)

A BASE search for "CEUR" also finds no single comprehensive source. The most common sources are DataCite (perhaps some proceedings have their own DOI minting?) and HAL.

Have you already asked CEUR or DBLP whether they can provide OAI-PMH access so that BASE, Unpaywall and everyone else can harvest regularly? I see no mention in https://dblp.uni-trier.de/faq/index.html .
