Our History

The Intelligent Systems Club was founded by Dr. Nattu, who brought small teams and senior design groups to
participate in the IGVC competition as early as 2002. Over the years it has grown to what it is today as the premier
robotics club at University of Michigan-Dearborn. ISC boasts a rich history of participation in
several competitions and is actively involved in community engagement and university
university sponsored events.

Our primary source of funding is generous industry, individual, and alumni donations, plus support from the University.
All work done in our club is on a voluntary basis, and we aim to contribute back intellectual property for the benefit of
everyone. We are able to provide a dynamic learning environment for students to grow and innovate, thanks to the continuous
support of our many benefactors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who help make our mission possible!

Guided by these core principles, we strive to gain experience
not only in robotics but in every field that impacts our
operation, including public relations, business, accounting,
and tutoring. Our goal is to leverage this experience for the
benefit of our members, the University, and the broader
community. By offering our skills and knowledge as a service,
we aim to contribute to making the world a better place.

The Club

Education

ISC is committed to educating its members through projects
like TinyKart, our entry-level project design to teach members
the fundamentals needed for working on Project Phoenix.
Whether you're starting from scratch or building on existing
knowledge, everyone will gain valuable insights. ISC is a
collaborative learning environment. With the support of
experienced members and mentors, you'll have the resources you
need to succeed and expand your knowledge in various disciplines.

Opportunity

ISC is dedicated to providing diverse opportunities for its members.
You don't have to be a CECS major to join us, our doors are open to
students from all fields of study. Members gain valuable experience
that translates into real-world success, with many finding impressive
opportunities at well-known companies. Participating in ISC projects
not only enhances your skills but also boosts your resume and career
prospects.

Growth

We firmly believe in learning by doing. ISC's projects are designed
to offer practical, hands-on experience in areas such as robotics,
software, electrical, and mechanical engineering. With Project Phoenix,
we aim to push the boundaries of both our club's capabilities and our
members' growth. Engage in challenging projects, expand your skillset,
and experience personal and professional development.
