use python script to dynamically update _quarto.yml #1
Comments
Also pull in _config.yml from the main website, which has a lot of information on the authors. @amichuda |
Where do you want to use the author information in the book and which information? |
We have a full suite of author information at https://github.com/labordynamicsinstitute/crress/blob/main/_config.yml#L171 in YAML format. It would be duplicative and the source of likely discrepancies if we entered it again.
We can use it to generate an "author bio" section, automatically added at the end (or a footnote) of each manuscript.

With the latest commit, I now pull author affiliations from _config.yml for each write-up. For the author-bio did you want a dedicated section or at the end of each write-up? |
Dunno. I would say at the end of each article for now, but since it's an iteration across authors, it should work across all authors if we ever decide to put it into a single section of the book.
