deleteDeadUserSessions gone in v3?

Wonder what the equivalent is for cleaning up dead sessions is in v3?
Or is that something that's not recommended to do anymore?

Maybe they will add it later - based on the code, it shouldn't be a breaking change.

If we were to add the functionality back, it would be something to delete all dead sessions instead. I haven't done it since it would be just a wrapper around a single query and it felt unnecessary? Also, we can't add it post v3 since it would be a breaking change.

seems i missed something while checking the code. I assumed that adding a method wouldn't produce any breaking changes.

Anyway - the question is:

Is this a must-have function/method which should be added into the core

vs.

is it enough to add section "Delete all expired sessions" inside the "Basics - Sessions" with the snippet how we can delete it.

( Since we have to handle the scheduling anyways, it shouldn't be a problem to run the 3 lines of code instead of one ;) )
