Right now systemd-boot is running automatic updates through systemd-boot-update.service. The bootloader can not be atomically updated, this introduces a single point of failure, if an update fails or introduces a bug the system may be left unbootable.
Other distros such as Fedora Silverblue for this reason do not update the bootloader.
Do we leave it as-is or pull it and leave the bootloader at whichever version was originally installed?
