In cases where WSL is enabled, remaining STIG complaint with the Linux distros utilized would be optimal and automating this process via PowerSTIG would be ideal.
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like to see Linux distros installed for WSL remain as STIG complaint as their bare metal/VM versions as possible.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Create a copy of an image of a STIG-hardened Linux server and register it with WSL (may have breaking changes that make WSL unusable).
Additional context
I would ensure that it is compatible with PS Core so the option to run from Windows or the WSL distro is available.

I see there's some Linux support for RHEL and Ubuntu. Can we now get some wsl native support done that takes advantage of that support so it can be run from Windows as part of automating the rest of Windows?
