How can the DENSE parameter be activated globally?

First of all, happy new year and many thanks for the great project.

I would like to use the themes to make my applications look more modern. However, the standard view is not compact enough for me.

I know that I can make a component more compact via Styles.toggleStyleClass(node, Styles.DENSE), I tried to set this for the root node of the application, but it didn't work.

What is the best approach?
