Thank you so much for this write up! I was trying to get this going by myself, but I kept running into problems. After following your guide I am up and running! |
Did you run into any trouble with video files failing to download (error: "2023/01/18 15:14:47 downloading in "/mnt/d/gphotos/" took too long to start") and Google saying "Video is still processing & can be downloaded later". I'm getting this constantly on videos, and the downloader can't advance. These videos are from 10yrs ago, so I'm sure Google has already processed them :( |
Never mind, it looks like this was caused by about 50 videos having a weird codec that caused google to never fully process them. They would play in the browser for me, but never let me download them. I ended up adding them to an album, and then downloading the whole album to get original size copies 😃 |
