What version of the Home Assistant Integration have you got installed?
2024.12.5
Have you tried everything in the Troubleshooting FAQ and reviewed the Open and Closed Issues and Discussions to resolve this yourself?
Yes
The problem
When I am streaming music I often get the following error:
ERROR (MainThread) [ffmpeg.49023] Stream error: TimeoutError
My setup is as follows:
All music I play is served from a local samba server. The samba server is running on a Raspberry Pi 4 (this is the only thing that is running on the raspberry).
The Raspberry Pi is connected to my LAN by cable
The AudioCast players are connected by WiFi
What I tried so far:
Upgraded the Samba Server from a Raspberry Pi 3B to a Raspberry Pi 4
Changed "HTTP Profile used for sending audio" - None of the options fixed the issue
Switched the "Enforce (lossy) mp3 stream" from off to on and back again - Didn't fix the issue
I now don't have any more ideas. The last thing I tried was switching from a Raspberry Pi 3B to a Raspberry Pi 4 as I had assumed the device may not be up to the task of serving music using a samba server.
When checking the log you will find the following entry
2024-12-23 09:10:25.157 ERROR (MainThread) [ffmpeg.49023] Stream error: TimeoutError
This is the one that finally got me to submit the issue here.
In the log you will also find references to a Raspberry Pi 3... which was the raspberry I used earlier to serve the music (I since turned that off)
How to reproduce
Play random music files. At some point it will fail with the above error. Most likely right before moving from one song to the next

Additional information
It does not matter if I start the music playback using the UI or using an automation.
And it happened again just now, but there is no error log entry (yet)
The UI looks like this
It suddenly stopped playing without any user interaction. There is no error in the log this time... no indication about what might have happened.
Also: "Don't stop the music" is not supported on these players
