Inspired by @chouinar's PR in the Flask template this ticket is to consider the idea of designing and implementing a language-agnostic version of generating ERD diagrams. See navapbc/template-application-flask#220 (comment)

Initial research shows that SchemaSpy is a popular tool. It offers a java based .jar as well as a docker image.
